Sportive in Piltown on Sunday 27th Sept in aid of all the schools in the piltown area and the enterprise centre. Team prizes as well as individual ones and a raffle on the day.

Weekend Sportives.

The Club was well represented at a couple of Sportives at the weekend. 

The Rebel Tour
A large number of our members took part in the Rebel Tour in West Cork.  Starting and finishing in Glengariff the event travelled around West Cork taking in the tough climbs of the Healy and Caha passes.  Well done to all who completed this.

Reminder: Spin to Cahir

Community Suicide Awareness Workers (C-SAW) in association with Cycle Against Suicide would like to invite cycling clubs to mark World Suicide awareness week on Sunday 6th September.

Each group leaves from their own club to arrive in Cahir Castle Carpark before11:30am.  They would like as many cyclists as possible to turn out for a photo shoot at 11.30am sharp at Cahir Castle car park. Please try and turn up before 11:30am for this worthy awareness. The draw will also take place on that morning.

Donations €5 per person which includes entry to a draw for a cycle against suicide cycling jersey and a c-saw cycling jersey. All donations go to local suicide awareness organization C-Saw.
Refreshments served.

This year the Cycling Ireland AGM and Awards’ Night will be held on separate dates as the following dates:
·         AGM - on the 7th November in the Crown Plaza Hotel, Santry, Dublin;
·         Awards’ Night - on the 21st November at the Crown Plaza Hotel, Santry, Dublin.
 
Motions and nominations to be returned no later than 1700 hours on 24th September, 2015 to Cycling Ireland by email only to Contactus@cyclingireland.ie with the subject line “2015 CI AGM”. All submissions will be acknowledged.  Any motions of a sporting or technical nature should be raised with the relevant Commission(s). Proposals not worded in a clear and unambiguous manner may be returned.  Proposals that require a change to the current technical rules must reference the relevant rule(s) in question and provide proposed new wording

IRISH CYCLING FEDERATION – 2015 AGM Preliminary Notice
Notice is hereby given that the 2015 Annual General Meeting of the company will be held at 11 a.m., on the 7th November at the Crown Plaza Hotel, Santry, Dublin.
 
The business of the Annual General Meeting shall be:

a)      To consider the minutes of the 2014 Annual General Meeting
b)      To receive and consider the Directors’ Report annexed to the 2014 annual accounts of the Company.
c)       To receive and consider the certified audited financial statements of the Company for the previous year.
d)      To elect a Board Director as Honorary President, subject to the terms of articles 36, 37 and 38.
e)      To elect two Board Directors without executive post, subject to the terms of articles 36, 37 and 38.  
Note:
The following Board positions are up for reelection at the Annual General Meeting:
1.       Honorary President (incumbent D. Toomey);
2.       One Board Director (incumbent J. Horgan);
3.       One Board Director (incumbent A. Mitchell).
Nominations are invited for the above posts on the enclosed nomination form, to reach Cycling Ireland by 1700 hours on 24th September, 2015.
f)       To approve the principles of the following year’s budget.
g)      To fix the entrance fees and rate of annual subscriptions for the following year.
h)      To appoint Auditors to the Company for the following year.
i)        To transact any Special Business or to discuss any general business of the Company.  Notice, in writing, of motions for discussion shall have been deposited with the Secretary by 1700 hours on 24th September, 2015.

Reminder: Herballife Nutrition and Diet evening.



Just a quick reminder that the club will be hosting a Herbalife Nutrition and Diet evening on Tuesday 8th September at 9pm in Duhill hall. If you are interested in attending this please let Bernard know ASAP so we can confirm the numbers (we need 10-15 people to make it worth holding and for the herballife rep to make up samples).

Jack Whitney takes 3rd at Kilmallock

Well done to Jack Whitney who came 3rd at the Kilmallock race on Sunday. Having been with the lead group all day Jack was just pipped for the win in a tight sprint finish.
